The las semester

Well, know I’ll talk about my last academic year. I choose this topic because I think that this year was a very stressful year in comparison whit my first year in the university. In the first semester I had 8 subjects (including English and sport) and in the second semester I had 7 subjects, including English, but I didn’t have sport or “CFG”, CFG is a course of a topic different of the topics of our career, for example: cine. Then I’ll explain why I think that the last year (2009) was a very stressful year to me and what is my opinion about every subject.

In the first semester one of my subjects was development 1, personally I loved this subject, because I share all of its topics, in this subject we had two tests, one was written and the other was oral. Another subject was neurophysiology, I hate it! I think this subject is so boring, and I had to give the exam. The most interesting subject, in my opinion, was psychopathology, because in this subject we had to study mental illness and we had to go to the hospital for saw some patients. In the first semester I had a sport class of dance fun, it was the best class of the first semester, because I had a really good time with my friends and at the same time I could make exercises.
In the second semester the problem arose, because we had two weeks of holidays in September and this caused a big disorganization whit the evaluations. In all the semester we didn’t have any test, and we lose many classes. For this reason we had to give many test and did many works in group in 2 or 3 weeks, and I think that this is a terrible torture, very stressful.

In conclusion, I think this semester was very fun, because I had many interesting subjects, like psychopathology or psychiatry or development or social psychology, and especially fun dance, the only boring subject was neurophysiology, definitely, this is not my favorite area, but after this year I hope to forget this subject forever! jeje. The only bad point of this last year was the disorganization with the tests and works for the different subjects, because this made me get stressful and I had a very painful problem with my colon and a very big problem with my allergy, but this is the real life.

In my free time...

The activities I enjoy the most when I have some free time are dancing belly dance or anyone type of dance, I love go out with my friends or family and I enjoy the most when I decorate my new belly dance’s dress.
Every Monday and Wednesday at seven o’clock I go to my belly dance’s class with my neighbor Javiera. I have classes for two hours per day. I have been doing this activity every week, every month for two years, because I LOVE IT!!
My second favorite activity is going out with my friends or my family when I have a free time I use to go to the mall with my mother. We stay all the afternoon walking across the corridors of the “Parque Arauco” or go to some restaurant with all my family in general on Saturday when my father has a free time too.
Another activity that I love to do when I have a free time is go to sleep in my grandmother’s flat in Providencia I enjoy it so much because I love my grandmother. When I go to this place I eat a lot of delicious food because she cooks like the gods! And watch fun programs in the television.
I use to go out with my friends when I have a free time. We use to go to the cinema or the disco in general on Saturdays at night. I love it because I missed my friends all the week and I love watch movies and dance specially with my friends.
Recently I have a new activity that I use to do in my free time; this is decorating my new dress for belly dance. I love do it because is very fun but it’s a long, long work. I enjoy when I have to put the sequins in the belt making flowers or another figures. My grandmother and my mother help me with my dress when I don’t have any free time because it’s a really long work. I have to finish the decoration of my dress before December, because I have a presentation of belly dance after Christmas.

IMPROVING YOUR FACULTY FACILITIES
Now I’ll talk about the current situation in my faculty. My faculty has many details, for example the library is very small and has many noise. My faculty needs a room for studies with silence and comfortable chairs. I think that we need more technology in the classrooms, like audio system for the data show and data’s screen. In the classroom are few chairs.
In my faculty the lady’s bathrooms are very small and old. I think that is very necessary a repairs of the bathrooms. For example in the bathroom of the second floor, the ceiling is fallen down.
I think that the room of computers needs more laser printers because when we need print something the printer is bad or doesn’t have toner. For our career is very necessary a laboratory of neurosciences.
The first step to dealing with this situation is search for financing and makes a plan with all of the details to repair.
With these improvements all the students of this faculty could have more comfort.
I hope that someday we could have these improvements in our faculty because this is urgent.

Do you like music?

Yes, I love music, but I don’t know what kind specially because I used to listen the same music for shorts periods of time. I like different kinds of music for example: Chilean rock like Los bunkers or Los tres, romantic music like franco de Vita, 80’s music like Simple Red, Sui generis or Soda, dancehall like Shamanes, Reggae like Bob Marley, etc; in general I prefer music in Spanish because I like sing very much.
Music is really important for me because I use to listen music in every activity during day. For example, when I walk to my home from the university. I think that I usually listen to my favorite music many hours a day maybe four or five hours a day. I can’t live without music because it make me happy.
I think that music is absolutely good for health because when I feel sad I listen happy music or dancing music, like reggaeton or dancehall because I love every kind of dance and this make me happy.
A singer that I love is Joe Vasconcellos, I like his music from I was ten years old, I think that he is a good singer because his songs are very fun for dance and has very good lyrics. My favorite song of Joe is “Magico” because is the first song that I listen of Joe Vasconcellos and I remember many good moments when I listen it. Favorite food

I love food in general, I think that the good food is the most relevant thing in the dairy life; it’s so difficult to choose a specific food. I think that the Italian food is very nice, I love spaghettis, lasagna, cannelloni, ravioli, pizza, etc. I love sea’s food, like shell food or fish.
My favorite flavor is the flavor of my grandmother’s food, she cook the best food in the word! My mother has the same ability and she cooks one of my favorite dishes, it’s called kitchen of onion. Other of my favorite dishes is sushi, I love ebi tempura and California rolls. I don’t kwon how to prepare this dishes but I want learn it soon. One of my uncles will teach me how to prepare sushi.
I think that the best place for eat sushi is “Sushi Sun” in Reñaca specially in the summer and the best place to eat kitchen of onion is my house when my mother prepare this delicious dish. She prepare this when is my birthday or when I need eat some special food, for example when I have some pain or stress and for this reason the kitchen of onion is a very important dish for me.

What to do and where to go in Santiago:

In my opinion Santiago is a very interesting city, maybe the most interesting city in Chile. Because in Santiago are many places to visit for example the museum of mode or the museum of natural history or the museum of the “La Moneda” building. Other beautiful museum to visit in Santiago is the “bellas artes” museum.
Santiago city is a valley and for this reason it has many hills: for example “San Cristobal”, this hill has a zoo, an image of the Virgin Mary and a cable railway. Another hill in Santiago is called “Santa Lucia” it has a very beautiful palace and a museum of the Mapuche culture. In my opinion the funniest hill in Santiago is the Mahuida park, because in there are: a park of adventure with extreme games, funny farm with little animals and games and the Roldelbahn (it’s a little car that go down in a road. ´
Another beautiful place in Santiago is the Causiño palace because it’s a very old building with a lot of art, elegance and history.
A very interesting place for tourist is the town of “Dominicos” in there is a lot of beautiful craftwork to buy. Other beautiful place to go is the “patio bellavista” because it’s a place with a lot of restaurant.

The last movie =)

The last movie I saw was Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It’s the 6º film about the teen wizard called Harry Potter. Harry Potter is a novel wrote by J.K Rolling. She is a Britain writer. In this film Voldemort (the cruelest wizard of the novel) returns with most powers, for this reason Hogwarts (Potter’s magic school) was transformed in a dangerous place. Harry Potter and the professor Dumbledore worked together for find the key to destroying Voldemort's defenses, but at the end of the movie Dumbledore died (it’s was very sad). In my opinion it’s a good movie because I didn’t read the book before (I hate the others movies because the books are better, more extensive and with more details).
I went to see that movie whit a friend called Andrés in the winter holidays. We went to the cinema called Hoyts of “la Reina”. It was full! Because that movie had been released recently. I had a really good time before, during and after the movie and I ate a lot of chocolates.
I recommended that movie because it’s very fun, but with one condition, If you want to see that movie don’t read the book before, this is a very bad idea!

Transantiago...

Hello now I’m going to talk about Transantiago system. It started in the 10 of 2007 when I was in vacations with my family and one of my friends. I watched in the television when the people were waiting hours in the bus stop. I remember that the first year of the Transantiago system was very difficult because it was much disorganized and the people were unhappy whit the new system of public transport.
I think that the Transantiago has many things better than the pre-Transantiago system. For example the buses are better that the old buses and the bus stops are more comfortable. I think that the bip card is a very good idea because people don’t have to pay with money, it was very slow!
My experience whit the Transantiago system isn’t very awful because I don’t have to use the Transantiago system every day. I’m living near the university for this reason I don’t use the Transantiago during the week. I use the Transantiago system only in weekends when I go out with friends.
I think that the Transantiago system is a very good public system of transport because is more comfortable than the pre-Transantiago system, but the people have a lot of prejudices.

I would like to visit...

I would like to visit Italy, because I love the ruins of Rome. I think that the Roman civilization is very interesting. Romans got a great development in architecture and engineering. They built big buildings and perfects irrigations channels. They were very developed for the seasons in which there. The buildings that they built were still in good conditions today. I would like to visit the Coliseum because it’s an icon of the architecture of the old time. Although it was a place of lots of violence. I would like to visit Rome, Venice, tower of pizza and the others monuments and famous places of Italy. Italy is a very beautiful country. I want to visit Italy for the food too because I love spaghetti. I want to live in Italy for some years but not for ever. I think that work in another country is a very good experience. I want to learn Italian language since I was a little girl because I love this European country. And I think that this language is very nice and romantic. I love the Italian people because they are very happy. I hope one day perform my dream of visit Italy. Italy is my favorite country all over the world.

Good and bad points of the last semester

In the first term of 2009, I learned about many different things like psychopathology, social psychology, and neurophysiology for example, but my favorite subject in the first semester of this year was social psychology because in this subject we learn about the relationship between groups of people, violence and leadership between others interesting things, I loved this subject because I think that the social relationship are very important in the human’s develop.
In the last semester I did entertaining dance in the university (It was an obligatory class), I enjoyed it very much! Because I had very good moments in that class with my friends. We used to laugh and shout it was very fun!
In my free time I used to go to belly dance, this is my hobby; I did that every year since I was eighteen years old.
In the last semester I got sick, because I got infected of chickenpox, I had to stay in bed during one week, it was very boring!
In that semester I stayed more nearly of my university’s friends because I didn’t have many time to get out with my others friends I was sad but is the student life.

My blogging experience...

In this semester, I wrote in a blog for the first time in my life, and I think that this experience was very fun and educational because when I was writing in my blog I could learn how to write better a paragraph. I enjoy this experience in many different ways.

Through this semester I felt that the difficult of write a paragraph in my blog becomes increasingly easy and this is a reflect that I was learning english.

In my opinion this experience has advantages and disadvantages. For example I think that write in a blog about different topics increases our ability to put our ideas in order.

Other advantage is an increase in our vocabulary and grammar but I think that writing in a blog could has a disadvantage because sometimes I couldn't have a previous correction from the teacher because I finished my blog late and I think that having a previous correction or a correction after is very important in my learning.

Well this is the last time that I write in my blog and I feel some sadness because I really have a good time writing in english in a blog, for me this was a good new experience.

My ideal job.

Well, my ideal job have to be a clinical job or in an organization of social job because my favorite topyc in psicology are psychopathology and social psychology. I ever dream that I will work in a beautiful clinic in Santiago with persons who have problems in their relationships because I want help people in their affective life because I think that this field is very importante and basic in our lifes.

For this job I think that I need a very big capacity of listen and give advices because the persons who visit my surgery will need my hep and is probably that they have many problems and they want to find a solution.

I think that I will be appropriate for this job because I love help people in their problems and give advices. It's very interesting for me. I think that find this kind of job is difficult because the majority of the estudents of psychology want to work in clinical surgeries but if I have many postgrades students maybe I have a little advantage jajaja.

My favorite subject

My favorite subject is Psychopatology, this subject have two professors (Luis Alvarado and Jose Luis Rossi). It's very interesting because They talk about many disturbs of the human mind and the consecuenses that it entail for the persons who suffer this menthal deseases.

I love when we have to go to the psychiatric hospital, because in there we have the possibility of see how the professor interviews the patient. Another thig that I love of this subject are the papers we have to read for the tests because the topycs is about the menthal deseases and for me this is the more interestant topyc in my career. We have to read one book about this theme (it's name is "psicopatologia y semiologia psiquiatrica") and with this book I learnt about many disturbs that I didn't know that it existed.

About the video...

I'm going to write about a video where a man called Ken Robinson talked about the creativity, He said that the intelligence (creativity and abilities) is a very dynamic and interesting characteristic of the human species, because the children have the possibility of learning about many topics. But in the schools all over the world these areas, like dance or painting, aren't stimulated because the school system prepare their childrens to be transformed in a productive adult for the society. And this artistic topics are view like a hobby without importance for the kids.

I agree with his opinion because I think that is very important that children practice different activities (but not the common school activities like math homework) because the intelligence must be developed in all the possible areas (like sports, art, dance, social relationships, etc.) to get a complete intelligence, and this is the most important element to get a successful life.

Ideal future =)

In five years from now, I would like to be study a postgrade about something related with psychology in the university because I will like have many studies before star my work, I hope to get a good job in a nice place with a good salary, I think that this nice place would to be a clinic or private office.

In my personal life I would like to have a boyfriend and continue my friendship with my friends of the university and the others friends, because I want to travel to exotic places with my boyfirend and going out with my friends every weekend.

I hope to live alone in a beautifull flat near my place of work and I will like to have a little dog of pug breed. This is my ideal near future.

My career

Today I'll talk about my career...I'm studing psycology, I choose this career specially because I like help people to solve their problems using the power of the words or appropriate behaviors, I think that is better give tools to the people than give only pills.

Other thing that I love of my career is its big variety of different styles and diffents forms of treatment because this way, using different forms of treatmente, I can help more diffents types of persons with theirs problems.

This variety of points of view about the human main makes the psycology a very interesting career because you never conclude your learning about this topic.

I think that I chosee the correct career for me.

She is my friend, we have many things in common, my grandmother is not like the others, she loves go shopping and walk with me.

I always have a great time whit her company.

My most precious possession

Choose one of my most precious possessions is very difficuly but my teddybear is one of the things that i love because i have it since i was a little child. My teddybear is yellow and has a rainbow in its tummy.

My father gaves me this teddybear when i was one year old because i said him that i wanted it, with very children's words and he felts tenderness and bought it for me.

.

I slept with its every night and took its to my kindergarden every day when the years past my poor teddybear get old and i don't play with it any more, but i have it in a special place in my bedroom with others precious teddybears, because its stayed with me in all of my life.

My last vacation

In my last vacacions, I went to Reñaca, Viña del mar and Valparaiso, at valentine's day, I was there for 3 days, I went with my father, my brother and my boyfriend. In the first day (valentine's day) my boyfriend and I were on the beach and then we had lunch in Reñaca in the afternoon we went to Valparaiso specially at the "Cerro concepcion", in there we walked around the beautiful houses, full of colors and art, we took many fotographs in differents places.

The others days I was there with my father and my brother too, we walked around Viña and had lunch there. The weather was very cold and wet every day but the last day in the midday the sun appeared and we went to the beach!.

In the afternoon we bought some beautiful gifts for my mom, and left the hotel.

I had a very good time in this vacations and I can't forget it. =)

My best friend

My best friend's name is Valentina Oneto, I met her in the british institute when i was 16 years old and she was 15 years old.

When I met her I had only boys as friends, because I didn't trust women, but she showed me otherwise. I didn't have many friends at school but she included me in her group of friends and then I met many beautifull peopl; all of them are very good friends, I love them!!

My dearest memory whit her is the first party we went together, It was in her home with her friends and our friends of the British Institute. In this party I met my other best friends and also I met the boy who later was my boyfriend(L).

Our friendship is very fun because we have many things in common. She understand all my problems and we have the same mood. We can spend hours at the telefone. I like many things about her specialy her concern for the other people, but i dislike her unpunctuality (sometimes, I've been waiting her for hours) but it's not important, because she is one of the persons I love in the world.

.

I admire the way she has overcome the problems in her life. If i could give her something I give her a scholarship in the "universidad de Chile" because she want to be a nurse.

I love her so much, i can't live whitout her friendship.

Introduction:

HI: my name is Valentina Zapata i'm 19 years old, i was born in Concepcion in the south of Chile but when i was 4 years old I came to Santigao. I have one brother, his name is Gonzalo and he is 13 years old. I live with my parents, Anita and Waldo, in ñuñoa near my university.

I study psychology (in the second year) in the "Universidad de Chile". I realy love my career, because it is everything that I dreamed when i was a child, helping people to solve their problems is my vocation.

In the last two years, I practice Belly dance as a hobby, I really love this music and culture in general, it's very beautiful and mysterious. One of the things that I like of practice belly dance is make public presentacions and make my own costumes.

I love dancing, listening to music and go out with my friends in my free time. I like italian food, different types of fish, but my favorite food is my grandmother's food and sushi.
